Russell, of the U. S. Bureau of Fisheries, obtained a small collection
on Afognak I. Specimens in Calif. Acad. of Sc.
1919. Stecker,
Adolph, Moravian missionary, collected some plants in Alaska.
They are now in Gray Herb.
1920-1936.
Murie, O. J., of the Bureau of Biol. Surv., and to some extent
also his wife Margaret E. Murie, on many journeys undertaken
for Zoological purposes collected plants in different parts of Alaska
and Yukon. Specimens preserved in Nat. Herb., Washington,
in Mr. MURIE’S own herb. and in the author’s herb. Plants
were collected in the following places: Aug. 21, 1920 Tanana R.; Aug.
23 Hot Springs Landing, Tanana; June 23, 1921 Tanana R.; July 10 Mt Veta;
July 14 Ketchumstock Creek; May 26, 1922 Jarvis Creek; June 5 Rapids;

2 Anchorage; July-August 1923 Savage R., McKinley Park; July 3-24, 1925
Izenbeck Bay, False Pass; June 11, 1936 Porcupine R. 8 miles from the
mouth; June 12 Porcupine R. 45 miles from the mouth; June 26 Old Crow
R.; July 7 Timber Creek, Old Crow R.; Aug. 11 mouth of Old Crow R. in
Porcupine R.; Aug. 22 Porcupine R. In 1936 he collected together
with SCHEFFER and STEENIS at Cordova, Dolgoi I., Unalaska I., Herbert
I., Atka I., Kasalochi I., Little Tanaga I., Kanaga I., Adak I., Skagul
I., Oliuga I., Kavalga I., Semisoposchnoi I., Amchitka I., Little Sitkin
I.. Rat I., Kiska I., Buldir I., Agattu I. and Attu I.
1920-1933. Palmer,
L. J., of the U. S. Bureau of Biol. Surv., made during these
years at various places in Alaska small collections of plants, now preserved
in Nat. Herb., Washington. In 1921 he visited Nelson I. and
St. Lawrence I., in 1923 Kobuk R., in 1924 Noorvik, in 1925 he collected
together with MILLER at Unalaklet, in 1926 he accompanied PORSILD from
Anchorage over Fairbanks and Pastolik to Nome, in 1927 he collected at
Cantwell in 1932 at Rampart and in 1933 at Skilab and Tustumena Lakes
on Kenai Penins.
1920. Johnston,
H. W., obtained together with PALMER a small collection, now
in Nat. Herb., Washington, at Unalaklet and Egavik in Aug. 1920.
1920. Müller,
Adolf, collected in Aug. 1920 a series of plants mostly labelled
»Lake Kluane to Don Jek R. Aug. 11-27, 1920». Specimens
collected Aug. 6 are labelled Bear Creek and »near Lake Desert
