Uyuk, Kodiak I., Aug. 25-27 at Orca. Sept. 1 at Juneau and Sept. 4. at Sitka.  SETCHELL also visited St. Michael and Nome.  The collection is kept in Univ. of Calif., duplicates in Nat. Herb., Washington.  The cryptogamic collections were published in papers by SETCHELL (Univ. Calif. Publ. Botany 2. 1907), and EVANS (Proc. Wash. Acad. Sc. 2, 1900; Zoe 5, 1901) and in the reports of the Harriman Alaska Exp.  SETCHELL returned to Alaska and Yukon to collect Salix specimens in 1932 (see that year).
        1899.   Glenn, Edwin F., captain, collected about 50 specimens, now in Nat. Herb., Washington, during the Cook Inlet Exploring Expedition of the War Department.    The specimens are labelled as collected »Between Cook Inlet and Tanana R.».  Most of them, however, were apparently collected close to Cook Inlet.  Collections were made in the following places: June 14 Shushitna Station; June 27 Johnson R.; June 28 Yentna R.; July 12 at lat. 63° and long.146°; July 25 at head of W. fork of Slahna R.; and July 30 at Tokyo R.
        1899.   Herron, Joseph S., lieutenant, collected a few specimens, now in Nat. Herb., Washington, during the Cook lnlet Exploring Expedition under Capt. GLENN.  On July 7 he collected at Ketchikan and on Aug. 16 at Upper Kuskokwim R.
        1899.   Castner, Joseph C., lieutenant, made a small collection during the Cook Inlet Exploring Expedition under Capt. GLENN.  He started at the Knik Arm, Cook lnlet on June 8. 1898, proceeded up Matanuska R., crossed the divide to Delta R., proceeded to Tanana R. and down that river to Tanana, crossed to the Yukon R., where he arrived in October.  In Febr. 1899 he reached Skagway.  In GLENN's report of the expedition (Adjut. Gen. Office, Military inform. div. Publ. No. 25 War Dept. Doc. No. 102) a list is given of 36 specimens collected by CASTNER at Matanuska.
        1899-1900.   Golder, F. A., schoolteacher at Unga, collected about 100 specimens, now in Nat. Herb., Washington, at Unga I.  He also obtained single specimens at Muir Glacier.
        1899-1903.   Gilbert, Charles Henry, of the Bureau of Fisheries, collected about 30 specimens at Bristol Bay (Koggiung and Kvishak Bay) in July 1903.   He also obtained single specimens from Juneau in July 1899.  They are now in Nat. Herb., Washington.
        1899-1902.   Emmons, George Thornton, lieutenant, collected a few plants in Alaska while making ethnological investigations there.  They are preserved in Nat. Herb., Washington.  Some specimens are
