Creek (June 11, 15, 25, July 5), Red Mt 62° 51' (May to July) and
Steamboat Slough (July 7), about 200 numbers in all. About July 19 he
went on a trip to upper White R., where his raft was destroyed and his
collections lost. On Sept. 7 he returned to Dawson. which place he left
on Sept. 21. He passed Sitka Oct. 5 on his way home. GORMAN's Yukon collections
are in Nat. Herb., Washington. In 1902 GORMAN started again for Alaska.
He then made a collection of about 300 numbers in the Iliamna Lake region.
The collection is now in Nat. Herb., Washington, but many duplicates were
distributed to other herbaria. One set is in Riksmuseum, Stockholm. The
specimens are often labelled »Lake Iliamna region» only. More
detailed data are, however, often found on the Washington set. GORMAN
visited Iliamna Bay June 21, Iliamna R. June 28, Iliamna Bay again July
6 and Iliamna R. July 14-10, Head of Lake Clark July 30, Lake Iliamna
and Nogheling Trail Aug. 7 and Iliamna Pt Aug. 22. He published a paper
on the Economic Botany of S. E. Alaska (Pittonia 3, 1896). Several of
his new species were published by GREENE in Pittonia.

specimens, now in Nat. Herb., Washington.

W. V. E., collected in July a small collection on Atka I. and
at Sarannaja Bay on the north coast of Attu I. Specimens in Nat. Herb.,
Washington.
1894. White,
James T., surgeon of the Revenue Cutter Bear, collected about
200 specimens at Seward Penins. He visited Teller July 3 and Cape Espenberg
July 28. He also collected on the Asiatic Coast. Specimens in Nat. Herb.,
Washington.
1895. Howell,
Thomas, accompanied GORMAN in southern Alaska May to Aug. 1895
and collected at the same stations as he about 200 numbers, now in Nat.
Herb., Washington. Some of his finds are published in his »Flora
of Northwest America».

Fredrick William, of the U. S. National Museum, and Prentiss,
D. W. Jr, collected in July and August on St. Paul I. and St.
George I. (Aug. 6), August 28-29 Unalaska was also visited. The collection,
144 numbers, is now in Nat. Herb., Washington, duplicates in N. Y. Bot.
Garden.

Thomas, of Spokane College. made a collection of plants in Alaska,
which is now in the Field Museum.
1896. Scale,
Alvin, accompanied the Stanford Expedition to
