1865-66. Bannister,
H. M., accompanied KENNICOTT to Alaska. Collected a small set
at St. Michael June 1865-Aug. 1866. Specimens in Nat. Herb., Washington.
1866-67. Ketchum,
Frank E., of St. Johns, New Brunswick, »captain»
of the Western Union Telegraph Expedition, collected a few specimens along
Yukon R. Collections in Gray Herb. and N. Y. Bot. Gard.
1867. Kellogg,
Albert, surgeon, botanist to a survey party organized by the
U. S. Coast and Geodetic Survey on board the revenue cutter Lincoln. The
following places were visited: Aug. 12-22 Sitka; Aug. 26-31 Kodiak; Sept.
6-13 Unalaska (Makushin volcano was also visited); Sept. 21-Oct. 29 Sitka,
with trips in the vicinity, including a trip to the month of Chilkat R.;
Oct. 30 Kake I.; Nov. 1-2 mouth of Stikine R. Collections, about 500 specimens,
in Nat. Herb., Washington, Acad. of Sc., Philadelphia and Calif. Acad.
San Francisco. The collections were published by DURAND in Appendix M.,
Rep. Superint. U. S. Coast Survey 1867 (Washington 1869).
1870-72. Hall,
W. G., Captain, collected single specimens at Repulse Bay (lat.
66° 32') in 1870 and at Popoff I. June 1872. Specimens in Gray Herb.
1871-72. Harrington,
Mark Walrod, of the U. S. Coast Survey, assistant to DALL, collected
in 1871 at Unalaska, in May 1872 at Popoff I. and Nagai I. and in 1872
at Kodiak. Medium sized collections in Nat. Herb., Washington.
1873. Baker,
M., accompanied DALL and collected a few specimens at Kiska I.

1874. McIntyre,
Mrs. made a small collection on St. Paul I., now in Gray Herb.
1874-81. Turner,
Lucien McShan, member of the Signal Corps, U. S. Army, weather
observer at the meteorological station at St. Michael May 25, 1874-July
14, 1877. Returned to Alaska in 1878 and arrived May 8 at Unataska,
from where he made trips to Fort Alexander (Nushagak), St. Paul I., and
Bjelkovski on Unalaska I. In 1879 he went to Atka, where he stayed from
May to July, and in 1880 to Attu, where he stayed until June 1881. TURNER
left Unalaska July 22, 1881 for Washington. The medium-sized collections
