1890. Hart, D. C., collected a few specimens
at Unalaska in Aug. 1890.
1891. Bugleham,
C. E., collected a few plants at Douglas I. and Juneau in July
and Aug. 1891.
1891. Cooley,
Grace Emily, made a fairly large collection of plants in S.E.
Alaska. Wrangell was visited July 22 and Juneau at end of July and beginning
of August. Two lists of the plants collected were published in Bull. Torr.
Club 19 (1892) by Miss COOLEY.
1891. Shumway,
E. A., schoolteacher in Seattle, accompanied Miss COOLEY and
collected about 300 specimens.
1891-1914. Macoun,
James Melville, of the Canadian Geological Survey, accompanied
G. M. DAWSON to the Pribilof Is in 1891. He collected at Unalaska in July,
at St. Paul I. July 30 and 31, at Nunivak I. Aug. 8, at Cape Vancouver
Aug. 9 and again at Unalaska in August. In 1892 he collected at Unalaska
and probably the Pribilof Is. In 1896 and 1897 he again collected at Unalaska
and the Pribilof Is during June to August. He returned in 1914 and collected
June 19 at Akutan and in July and August on St. Paul I. and St. George
I. The large collections are found in Ottawa with duplicates in Nat. Herb.,
Washington, Gray Herb., N. Y. Bot. Garden and other herbaria. He published
a list of the plants found in the Pribilof Is (In JORDAN, Fur seals and
fur-seal islands of the N. Pacific Ocean vol. 3. 1889) and a list of mosses
from these islands (Ottawa Nat. 5, 1892).
1891. McGrath,
John R., of the U. S. Coast and Geodetic Survey, made a small
collection at Camp Davidson (lat. 64° 41' long. 140° 59'). Specimens
in Nat. Herb., Washington.
1891. Merriam,
Clinton Hart, chief of the Bureau of Biol. Surv., U. S. Dept.
of Agricult., collected about 75 species at Unalaska and the Pribilof
Is in July and August 1891. Collection in Nat. Herb.,
Washington, duplicates in N. Y. Bot. Garden. He published a list of his
species (Proc. Biol. Soc. Wash. 7. 1892).
1891. Reiter,
George C., Commander in the U. S. Navy, collected a few specimens
at St. Matthew I. (which on the labels are included in »The Aleutian
Islands»). The collections are now in Univ. of Calif.
1891. Wickham,
Henry Fredrick, of the State University of Iowa, collected at
Wrangell, Port Chester and Yes Bay. Specimens in the State University
of Iowa.
1891. Wright,
William Greenwood, lepidopterist, collected plants at Prince
of Wales I. and Sitka in July 1891 (on some labels 1881). Collections
in Univ. of Calif.
