classified by Dr. ASA GRAY (most phanerogamic plants), Dr. G. W. WASEY and Mr. CONNANT (grasses), and Dr. D. C. EATON (ferns).
TURNER published a report on his collections under the title »Contributions to the Natural History of Alaska» (49th Congr. 1st Sess. Senate, Misc. Doc. 155, 1886), which is merely a reprint of ROTHROCK`s »Sketch of the Flora of Alaska» with his Aleutian plants (often erroneously) inserted. His ferns were published by DAVENPORT (Bot. NORDENSKJÖLD under the title »Vegas färd kring Asien och Europa . . .»; 2 vol., Stockholm 1880-81. English translation by A. LESLIE »The voyage of the Vega round Asia and Europe; with a historical review of previous journeys along the north coast of the Old World»: 2 vols (London 1881). The scientific results were published by A. E. NORDENSKJÖLD in »Vega-Expeditionens Vetenskapliga lakttagelser»; 5 vols (Stockholm 1882-87). In this publication are included two reports on the phanerogamic plant collections by KJELLMAN (Phanerogams of St. Lawrence I. and Phanerogams of the West-Esquimaux Land) and one on the lichens by ALMQUIST (Lichen-vegetation of the coasts of the Bering Sea).  KJELLMAN also published a paper on the algae of the Bering Sea (»Om Beringhavets algflora» Sv.
