Castilleja species

8. photos.
This plant appeared at the Pinnell Mountain Trail parking lot on Twelvemile Summit in 2007.  It may be a
red variety of C. caudata.  Hultén's drawing of a single stem is a better match for this flower than it is
for the more common yellow-flowered plant.  The Genus Castilleja has been moved to the family
Orobanchaceae according to ITIS.
